So Confused, I really am

"Kris, eh?" Max asked in one of those weird pirate voices, sticking close to me. "Where you come from, matey?" Jim makes a 'seriously' face. Max shrugs, smiling a little.
"The school-" Kris starts, looking absolutely and utterly annoyed. She pushed her hair out of her face.
"The what?" We all ask at once. School is...what regular people go to. she's not a regular person...judging by the giant wings on her back. But you know, maybe I'm wrong and she's completely normal.
She sighs like this is the most obvious thing in the world. "Yes, the school. You know, the one's who experiment on kids?"
"Oh, the prison." Carter said, nodding. Kris raises an eyebrow but says nothing.

Kris

Once Wendy made her pass out using one of her powers (making people pass out by looking them in the eye), we finally got her to stop fighting. The others woke up in the process though and now we were all on the ground staring at her.
"Where'd she come from?" Max wondered aloud. Carter shrugged.
"I saw her." I mumble. "she was running from the prison. Then when I woke up, she was here." Simone held onto my arm, sighing. Jim looked wary.
"So she's not with them, is she?" He asked me. I shake my head, not that I know of. Although, I'm not a mind reader. So I could just as easily be wrong about her. Maybe she IS working for the prison. I wouldn't know.
She moans, coming around. We all get in that weird fighting stance, all except me. I'm sitting there dumbfounded. I thought it would take more time for her to wake up- she passed out for heaven's sake! Yet, she's waking up five minutes after passing out. It would take me a while. As far as I know...
"Agh!" She jumps up when she sees us all crowded around her, flapping her wings frantically. She can't get up because there's no room though. Max gets thrown back against Wendy and she nearly stumbles over. This girl has high wind levels with her wings...
"We're not here to hurt you-" Jim starts but gets knocked back. I duck to the ground quickly and put my hands over my head. There's debris and leaves flying everywhere. Pelting everyone. I scream because it hurts.
"Stop, please." Carter says calmly, somehow ending up behind her and gently taking her wings. then the girl stops, staring at Simone and around. Holding her breathe.
"I made her believe she's underwater!" Simone says proudly and Jim nods, coming up. He had gotten slammed into a tree. "Who're you?"
"Kris-" The girl says, looking a little flustered.

(One Of the Winged)

I sit up, blinking. That was her, she had been running through the trees- right toward us! I bet she's an escapee from the prison! We need to help her! I take out my wings, getting up, something from behind me pulls me back down by my waist. I look over my shoulder at Carter. "I had a vision about her, she's from the prison." I tell him urgently.
Jim and Wendy glide down after the girl, barely over head. She suddenly takes out a pair of brown and white appendages and they move out of the way before she flies up. Carter stiffens behind me and let's go, I take off into the sky immediately. She found a place to slip through the trees and I followed suit, flying after her in the wind. I could feel Wendy and Jim follow close behind and say Jim soar above all of us. The girl kept flying but wasn't very good, more like I had been when I started flying. She could barely stay above the tree line and was flapping her wings desperately, throwing glances over her shoulder.
"HEY!" Jim shouted at her, swooping down. She tried to duck out of the way but he crashed into her, sending them back into the trees. Wendy told me to follow her and I dove after her back down into the canopy.
Jim was trying to get her to stay still but this girl was having none of it, thrashing and seeming to know every move he was doing before he did it. Her blonde hair had many twigs and debris in it, like she had been rolling around in dirt. She had on prison 'uniform' as I say it; and it was ragged and dirty. Her bare feet were muddy. Her eyes were flashing everywhere but us as she tried to get away from Jim.

(One Of The Winged)

I saw a girl. She was running from someone, no, something. Then she flipped her head around, stopping momentarily. The stencils flooded into the area like water and she closed her eyes. Then all the sudden, they turned around and left. Just like that.
The girl opened her eyes tentatively, looking around. Then her eyes stopped on where I should have been. I thought I was invisible to whoever I was having a vision about but apparently that's not true. For, she could see me. Or hear me at least. She cocked her head, taking one last look at me before running off into the woods.
****
I woke up right after, hearing whispering. I turned my head ever so slightly, I still wanted them to think me asleep. Wendy was talking to Jim, about something unknown. They were saying things about how bad this is. How bad it is that people have pictures and video tapes of us. We could be put in a zoo, or worse, sent back to the prison. We would become experiments again... I shiver involuntarily.
"We'll be aliens to them- new specimen to look at-" Jim said, waving around a hand. Wendy nodded.
"We can't let that happen to the kids....we need to lay low for a few months...if that's possible." She muttered, folding in her wings. Jim shrugged.
"Probably not, have you seen how many people got snaps of us flying away? Right about now, I wish I could go back in time and fix all this..."
There was a rustling in the trees that made the two snap their heads toward the ground. A girl was running through the trees... I recognized her as the girl from my vision.

(One of the Winged)

It's probably not good we flew for hours on end. Simone almost fell down twice. I actually did fall over twice.
Jim kept making us go though, until we were all so tired, we couldn't even complain. He seemed really tired, but not because we'd been flying so long. More like, because of the situation we're in. People know who we are. They have pictures and no doubt we're all over the news. He wanted us all to stay low and then came the idea of the zoo. His idea of going to the zoo. Now, that I think about it, he probably feels to blame for the situation. It awfully seemed like that... He wouldn't talk to any of us. He just flew ahead, leading us to some other place where hopefully no one knew us.
The sun was now setting, casting shadows through the forests below. The land scape had changed. Now we were in woodlands, with tall pine trees and it was a little colder. Everything was green and alive. Carefree animals slid through the forest. I'm starting to think this was a reserve.
Then, Jim finally decided we were all miserable enough, so he landed. We all followed behind him, not even caring where we landed. So much as we land. He leads us all into the trees and everyone falls over on their limb. Simone falls asleep and Carter hops on her branch. Max huffs on his, glaring daggers at Jim. Wendy was whispering to Jim, which I ever will understand. I fall asleep too.
Then have another vision.

(One of the Winged)

The whiteness was getting closer, enveloping me in it's soft- almost feather like- embrace. Well. It figures that it was feathers. A hand wrapped around my arm and pulled me up the last of the way, hauling me onto the cement side of the ride. Water poured out of my mouth and nose, needing no encouragement. I gasped, sucking in gulps of air, staring up at Wendy. She had her downy, white wings stretched out behind her. She was soaking wet. She had...pulled me out of there. SHE SAVED ME FROM DROWNING!
I jump up, hugging her. She stumbles and we almost fall back in. Almost...
"Wendy!!!!" Jim called, running up to us. Red emergency lights were flashing and a siren had gone off in the short time I was underwater.  He pulled us up by the backs of our shirts and shoved us toward a hole in the wall. We ran through, following behind the others. They had already made it in. Jim closes a door behind us and we all sprint down the corridor, red lights lighting our way.
Simone pushes a back door open and we all rush into the sunlight, immediately taking out our wings. Cautious, I know. We take off into the sky, more than enough people getting pictures. I could see people rushing out of the ride like ants, supervised by attendants. They were all very angry, children were crying. Some observant ones were even shouting and pointing at us. I swear, it was hard to see someone who DIDN'T notice us.
Jim took the lead, flying higher until we could barely be seen. But still, people were trying to get a good look. Someone had called the news and I could see with my raptor vision that they had a camera out and had filmed our departure.
Until a few days ago, no one knew about me. At all. I was a 'slave' basically, locked up for experimentation. Now, it was like everyone knew me. I was caught on camera; a bunch of people passed by me-by all of the Winged really. So now...it's more like the 'stay low' thing isn't working very well. We had managed to draw so much attention to ourselves in the past couple days. It was almost unbelievable. But if I could believe in idiots at the prison experimenting on little kids, I can imagine publicity coming naturally for a bunch of kids with wings.
The sad part though?
I think it's all because of me that everyone knows.

(One of the Winged)

The princess, it turned out, wasn't a princess at all. She took off her mask at one of the stations and suddenly it all fit. Dark, curly red hair, being short, all added up to- Rachel. All in the same moment, the boats stopped, the lights turned off, and a bunch of screaming filled the air. The seat belt wouldn't let me out and had actually seemed to tighten with my increased rate of breathing. Simone was screaming and I have the feeling I was about to also. This was kind of scary. I felt breathing along my neck and the gentle scrape of claws along my cheek. It was so dark that even with increased senses, I couldn't see whatever was in front of me. Which seriously freaked me out.
I felt something cut my seat belt off and someone flung me over their shoulder with a hairy hand. I scream, kicking at them. I could tell right away it was a stencil and I got the impression he wasn't here to invite me over for tea and crumpets. I scream louder, managing to knock my elbow into the back of their head. He grunts, jumps onto something else. I assumed it was another boat because the world was moving a lot. I kick him in the wrong place and he gasps, trying to hit me. But then that made him lose his balance and we crashed into the water with a splash.
I get the feeling, he can't swim. For he grabs onto me to keep a float. No offense, well actually yeah offense, he's a little heavier than your average person. So...we start sinking immediately. I kick my legs, trying to buck the guy off me. He just holds on tighter, making me want to let out my breath. I kick him in the shin, my feet starting to touch the bottom. He finally touches the bottom too and lets go, propelling himself upward and leaving me in a daze. How was I supposed to get up in time, my lungs were practically about to burst?! My muscles were tired and refused to move, my vision was getting blurry. I did the only thing I could do at the moment, the thing my brain was screaming at me to do. I took in a breath of WATER. I thrash, water rushing into my throat. Oh my god- I'm going drown!!! I kick frantically, pulling my arms up and making them do sloppy strokes. It's not working and I stop, five feet still to go till' I reach the air. I can't do it...
I start sinking again, the edges of my vision going black. Well... I had a good life for a week. Before that was the prison.
I swear, I saw a bright white light.
